Sifu developer Sloclap had mentioned its plan for a May update back in February, but details about what it would actually include were scarce. May was also announced as the month that a physical release for Sifu would launch, and it is now confirmed that those separate items will now coincide on the same day.

Yesterday, Sifu developer Sloclap announced the first official skin that will be available for Deluxe Edition holders. On top of that, the developer also teased its May update once more with the announcement of a 2022 content roadmap that fans could look forward to. Now, not only are the details surrounding May's update known, but Sifu's 2022 content roadmap also details what content players can expect until the end of the year.

Sifu has divided its future content updates into seasonal patches between Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The first update releases on May 3, and offers Sifu's highly anticipated difficulty options, an "advanced training" tutorial, and outfit selection. The difficulty options seem to be titled "Student," "Disciple," and "Master," with "Disciple" likely being the standard and original difficulty. Plus, as Sloclap previously stated, this and all future updates will be free for players.

Sifu recently revealed a black-and-red suit cosmetic exclusive to Deluxe Edition holders. However, May's update will debut its first openly accessible skin with the Wude Outfit. Fortunately, Sifu's roadmap shares that each subsequent update will include more new outfits. If fans look ahead to later seasonal updates, they can see that Sifu plans to add multiple modifiers to tailor the player's experience. Modifier options include intense nerfs and buffs such as "No Pendant," "No Guard," "Golden Staff," and "All Skills Unlocked."

Scoring ranks and multipliers seem to be receiving an adjustment in Summer's update, and Fall's update is set to introduce a filter or sequence alteration in a Replay Editor feature. Interestingly, Winter's update will introduce a new game mode called Arenas, which is also not described further. Later dates will surely depict these features more, but it is considerate nonetheless to let fans in on what they will receive in that respective month of content.

The emphasis on modifiers and a new game mode leans further toward an arcade-style orientation for Sifu that players will be able to return to with personalized experiences. Besides the Deluxe Edition skin that was announced, as well as the potential for future Deluxe Edition-exclusive skins, fans may all partake in this new content as it steadily doles out throughout the rest of the year. This dedication to nearly a year of consistent updates shows Sloclap's enthusiasm and goal toward making the game as fun and approachable to players as possible.

Sifu is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
