Call of Duty: Warzone burst onto the scene last week after months of speculation about its upcoming release. The free-to-play battle royale is available as both a stand-alone game and as a mode within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Although the game posted record numbers, with 6 million players within the first 24 hours, it's not a perfect game. And some fans, and even popular streamers like Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek, have explained some of the pros and cons to their experience thus far.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a massive and expansive title. Developers Infinity Ward and Raven Software worked hand-in-hand to create a unique battle royale experience within the Modern Warfare engine. According to Shroud, the fact that Warzone is tied so closely to Modern Warfare may be an issue.

While other streamers, like Ninja, have complained about some of Warzone's distinctive features, Shroud thinks that the time to kill (TTK) in the game is impossible to balance. In a game like Warzone, killing an enemy is much quicker than something like Apex Legends or Fortnite, the former being a game that Shroud has used to popularize his online streaming brand.

Some may enjoy the quicker time to kill in Warzone, but Shroud's concern isn't so much about the time to kill itself, but that Infinity Ward will not be able to tweak or balance the Warzone aspect of the game because the gun stats are directly tied to the multiplayer gun stats from Modern Warfare.

Shroud said, "The TTK is too high? I mean, it’s really, really fast, it really is, but that’s the thing, you can’t balance it. It’s near impossible to balance TTK in Call of Duty, because Infinity Ward's main focus is to try and combine all aspects of the game." Right now players can rely on the weapons and gear they've unlocked in either Warzone or Modern Warfare to create the best possible loadout for Warzone battle royale. In general, whatever weapon players feel familiar with multiplayer, that same gun should do relatively the same in the battle royale. But perhaps that shouldn't be the case, and certainly, Shroud has his opinions.

There are many ways that Call of Duty: Warzone differentiates itself from other battle royales, time to kill is certainly one of them. Many players enjoy being able to take down an enemy with speed and accuracy, without having to worry about getting into a heal-off battle. The way the game handles contracts and respawns is also quite unique.

Fans were also extremely happy to see that Solo mode was added to Warzone. While the game plays wonderfully in a team-based setting, there's nothing quite like lone-wolfing it to the final circle and even this benefits from quick aim, quick reflexes, and a TTK.
