With the Persona series developer and publisher Atlus based in Japan, most of the company's marketing efforts and campaigns are based around the region. This can be seen in the series' constant Japan-exclusive events and collaborations, and the many Persona-themed merchandise released only in Japan. Now, global fans can rejoice as the company's online store, Shop Atlus, finally launches its website. What's more, the store's opening coincides with a new pre-order announcement for a Persona 25th anniversary hoodie.

With 2021 drawing to a close, fans seem to have the notion that the Persona 25th anniversary celebrations are quite lackluster. Atlus has not made any major game announcements about the series, not even hinting anything about the mysterious Persona 6 for fans to speculate about online. Most of the festivities are still centered in Japan such as themed pop-up stores, events, and exclusive merchandise. Therefore, launching a global store like Shop Atlus is likely a breath of fresh air for fans around the world who are dying to get their hands on official Persona-themed items.

On the official Shop Atlus Twitter account, a recent announcement was made that the online store is now in beta mode. To kick off the store's launch, the pre-order of a Persona 25th anniversary collector's edition hoodie was also made available. The hoodie is priced at $99.99 USD, exclusive of taxes or shipping fees. Only available in black, the limited edition hoodie has the Persona 25th anniversary key artwork printed on the back, while the five logos of the different schools in the Persona games are located at the front. The anniversary logo is also patched on one of the sleeves of the jacket. Fans who purchase the item can expect it to ship out early Spring 2022.

Shop Atlus not only offers its customers with the limited edition clothing piece. There are already several Persona 5 Royal items already available for purchase, while merchandise from fellow Atlus series such as Shin Megami Tensei and Catherine will come in at a later time. Though Shop Atlus ships worldwide, Twitter fans have already voiced out their opinions about the expensive shipping fees when checking out items in the store. However, given the cost of international shipping, these fees are not likely to lower any time soon.

Nevertheless, the opening of Shop Atlus provides a great gateway for fans to finally purchase and own official merchandise from their favorite Atlus titles. This removes the need for third-party proxy shopping services that may not be all that trustworthy. Hopefully Atlus maximizes the global store, and also releases Japan-exclusive Persona items on it in the future.
