Yesterday, a young man opened fire into the GLHF Game Bar located at the Jacksonville Landing of Jacksonville, Florida during a Madden NFL 19 tournament. The Jacksonville Police department has since announced the total number of victims of the Landing Mass Shooting to be 13, with 3 deceased (including the shooter). The police have also revealed, pending confirmation, that the shooter was a participant of the tournament.

Reportedly, his name was David Katz, 24, from Baltimore, Maryland. He was part of the team representing the Buffalo Bills with the name "Bread" or "Sliced Bread" in 2017. EA Sports had a listing for him referring to a victory obtained in the 2017 NFL Club Series Championship, which follows:

In what some are calling the most exciting moment in all the 2017 NFL Club Series Championships, David "Bread" Katz won with a walk-off victory by completing an unbelievable pass as time expired to be crowned Buffalo Bills Champion. The crowd at 716 Food and Sport in Buffalo, NY was amazed with the clutch execution in the 4th quarter!

As more information continues to develop, it's worth mentioning that the Jacksonville Police are working with the FBI and Baltimore Police in order to gather as much info as possible. According to another Madden NFL player at the tournament, Steven "Steveyj" Javaruski, Katz had lost earlier in the tournament and returned to the venue.

As reported by Javaruski, the shooter "targeted" a few people before killing himself. In the aftermath of this tragic event, EA has also made the following official statement:

The tragic situation that occurred Sunday in Jacksonville was a senseless act of violence that we strongly condemn. Our most heartfelt sympathies go out to the families of the victims whose lives were taken today and those who were injured. All of us at Electronic Arts are devastated by this horrific event, and we also join the community in thanking the first responders who were quickly on the scene. Our focus right now is on those affected and supporting law enforcement as they continue their investigation into this crime.

We'll continue to the monitor the situation and report on it as need be, but for those who lives have been forever changed by the acts of a single person, there may not be a detail they can forget. While his identity has been revealed, the police have not reportedly cast a motive, but as mentioned above, it was likely and unfortunately related to the tournament itself.
