Many video game fans like to collect merchandise based on their favorite games. The Good Smile Company is one of the leading companies that specialize in creating action figures based off of hot video game franchises. This can be seen with the company's line of figmas, a type of Japanese action figure that specializes in dynamic poses due to their usage of smooth joint parts, allowing for a full range of motion. These include figures based on popular RPG games, like Good Smile's line of Persona figures. The latest Good Smile figure is based on another Atlus RPG series, with a figma based on the protagonist of Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne, Demi-Fiend.

The Demi-Fiend is a human who gets trapped in an event that forever changes his fate, the Conception. This is an apocalyptic event that throws Tokyo into a complete chaos, with almost every person being turned into a demon or soul. The Demi-Fiend has been transformed into a demon himself, and is thrust into this new world. From there, players of Shin Megami Tensei 3 can alter the destiny of this new world, by choosing to fight to spread Chaos, uphold the law, or take a more neutral route.

The Demi-Fiend himself has a very unique design after he's transformed into a demon, which is what this figma's appearance is based on. The character has an incredibly unique tattoo design that spreads across his entire body. The lines on his face and arms are intended to convey the appearance of a shaman based on comments from his character designer, Kazuma Kaneko. The entire design is just striking, embodying some of the best parts of Shin Megami Tensei 3's design, which are shown in the first picture of the prototype figure.

The first photo of this figma was shown off at Wonderful Hobby 34, a Japanese figure exhibition show in Akihabara that is hosted by Good Smile Company and Max Factory, the manufacturers of the figmas. The Demi-Fiend's design is retained for the figma figure, complete with his iconic tattoo design and pose. The smooth joints can also be seen, allowing for multiple different poses that can be done. This means that fans of Shin Megami Tensei 3 can re-create some of the actions that can be seen in-game.

The figure first announced its development last year, the same year that Shin Megami Tensei 3's HD Remaster was released. Through the prototype, fans can see the best aspects of the character's design retained in this upcoming figure. There is currently no release date for this figma, as the photo notes that it's still waiting on final approval from the liscense holder, Atlus.

Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster is available now for PC, PS4, and Switch.
