As Shin Megami Tensei 5 approaches its release within a few weeks, there has been an incredible amount of hype behind it from Atlus and JRPG fans. This has been further accentuated with the information that the developers have been giving fans for the last few months, through the usage of news reports. This includes the game's alignment factions and the demon negotiation and fusion mechanics present. For a lot of fans, this will be their first Shin Megami Tensei game, while others have been eagerly anticipating this game. To capitalize on this, Atlus released one last trailer before the game's November release, highlighting a lot of the game's key features.

This new trailer kicks off with some familiar scenes from other trailers for Shin Megami Tensei 5, with cutscenes and gameplay of the protagonist entering the otherworldy Tokyo and the realm of Da'at. They then meet Aogami, who devotes their power to the protagonist, transforming them into the Nahobino. From there, the protagonist explores the game's open world, where they encounter a variety of returning and new demons.

It then shows off some staples of the series, including Shin Megami Tensei 5's demon negotiation, fusion and press turn battle systems. This includes the protagonist being able to appeal to certain personality traits of the demons that can be fought, and exploiting the enemy weaknesses to increase the amount of actions that can be executed, indicated with a gauge at the top right corner of the screen. This allows for a separate meter to be filled underneath, which can then allow the player to use special Magatsuhi skills. As for the game's fusion system, players can create stronger demons from ones they recruited, as well as create essences that can help change up their skills and affinities.

One of the bigger points that is a big part of Shin Megami Tensei 5 is the game's alignment system. In many games of the franchise, the player can obtain a different ending depending on the different dialogue choices that can impact the player's alignment with the other factions in the story. Some of these options are presented near the end of the trailer, which can give players the idea of what to expect, and how it can affect if they will side with either law, chaos, or neutral alignments.

The last details of the trailer showcase the various characters that have been introduced so far, from the classmates of Shin Megami Tensei 5's protagonist, the demon fighting organization of Bethel, to the various demons including Lucifer. The end of the trailer emphasizes the fact the game will be heavily impacted by the player's choices, that it will change the fate of their home forever.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases on November 12 for Nintendo Switch.
