With Shin Megami Tensei 5's looming release next month, hype has been high for the game. The developers have given a lot of information regarding the game for the last few months, through a series of news reports. Some of it revolves around Shin Megami Tensei 5's factions to the classic demon negotiation and fusion mechanics in SMT5. With only a few weeks left before launch, Atlus revealed some of the bonuses that will be available for fans to try out upon release, including a laundry list of DLC available for purchase, along with some New Game Plus modes.

Some of this DLC will be free and available to download upon release. This includes the "Safety" Difficulty, the easiest mode for new players, announced in a previous News Report that covered Shin Megami Tensei 5's demon fighting organization Bethel. The other free DLC upon release will be the Japanese voices for the dialogue and battle grunts, for fans who prefer the Japanese dub over the English dub.

Regarding the Paid DLC, some of the DLC will serve to make Shin Megami Tensei 5 easier in a few ways. This includes 3 Separate DLCs that will make certain rare demons known as the Mitamas appear at an increased rate, which can help the player farm for more resources quicker. Then there's separate DLC that will make other demons available for fusion, upon the completion of a side-quest. These three will grant the player the ability to fuse for the demons Artemis, Cleopatra, and Mephisto, each with a unique ability and re-design.

The most important and impressive of the content available however is the "Return of the True Demon" DLC. This will open up a side quest for players to take on and recruit the nine legendary fiends, who are powerful demons in their own right. It doesn't stop there, as upon beating them, the player then has a bonus boss fight with the strongest of them all, the Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne. Considering the Demi-Fiend's tough as nails boss appearance in Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, fans should expect a similarly difficult boss fight in this DLC.

There will be two New Game Plus modes available too, where players can start a new playthrough after beating the game. These two modes affect the attributes that will be carried over into a new run. There is the "Newborn" which will transfer the Demon Compendium and enemy analysis data, and the difficulty will not be affected that much. The other is "Reborn" which transfers everything from the previous run for an easier time. All of the DLC is available for separate purchase, or players can opt to buy it all and the base game in a special Digital Deluxe Edition of Shin Megami Tensei 5.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases on November 12, 2021 for Nintendo Switch.
