Mary MacPherran went through quite the transformation to become the villainous Titania. This character has been featured in Marvel Comics since 1984 and has made her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the Disney Plus series by Marvel Studios, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Titania has quite the history with a few heroes and villains, but none quite like She-Hulk.

With every new addition to the MCU, fans may wonder about the characters introduced, and their place in the ever-growing and expansive cinematic universe. Titania has a comfortable place against one of Marvel's best lawyers, and hopefully, fans will get to see more of her character, with only Marvel Comics readers knowing Titania’s potential.

8 Given Powers By Doctor Doom

When Doctor Doom found himself looking for recruits for a new army of supervillains, he saw the young Mary Macpherran as the perfect candidate. She was youthful, weak and full of potential. Doctor Doom offered her the chance of gaining superhuman powers, and she soon accepted.

Using highly advanced alien technologies, Doctor Doom recreated Mary Macpherran, providing her with a far taller, muscular frame. These powers were his gift, and she decided to use them as intended, for villainy. Doctor Doom has yet to make his debut in the MCU, so it is unlikely that he will have an involvement in Titania’s creation.

Fans of the MCU have been waiting for the return of the Avengers after the climactic Avengers: Endgame. It was recently announced that the 6th Avengers film will be Avengers: Secret Wars, an important event in the comics as it was Marvel’s first crossover event, as well as the origin for Titania.

Secret Wars saw a suburb of Denver ripped from Earth by Beyonder to create the planet Battleworld. This led Mary MacPherran to be without a home, and all the more reason to start her new life as a villain. Considering Avengers: Secret Wars will be after She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it is certain that Titania’s origin will change.

6 Baron Zemo’s Masters Of Evil

Baron Zemo has been a long-time villain in the Marvel Universe. Even in the MCU, Baron Zemo attempted to destroy the Avengers from their trust in one another in Captain America: Civil War, and later returned with his cunningness, and comic-accurate costume with Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the comics, Zemo is quite the recruiter.

Baron Zemo is the leader of a villainous team named the Masters of Evil. He allowed Titania to join and kept her as a recruit. Titania has been part of many different villain groups, and perhaps the MCU will see her debut as one of the Thunderbolts.

5 Titania’s Powers

Due to the mutagenic alteration process from Doctor Doom, Titania possesses various amount of superhuman attributes. She may be no Hulk, or an Asgardian god, but what she does have is something better than most. Titania has superhuman strength, superhuman stamina, and superhuman durability.

These powers allow her to clash with some of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe. Her strength has increased over the years thanks to her rigorous weight training and can lift around 100 tons. She can also exert herself for over 24 hours before failing, and can sustain hits and wounds that would be fatal to all, but not her.

4 Nemesis To She-Hulk

It is more often than not that a superhero has a supervillain. The dynamic between hero and villain is important for their comic books and keeps readers engaged in what ghastly activity the nemesis to the hero will do to win. Such characters like Batman and Joker are iconic heroes and villain dynamics. In the case of Marvel, it’s the fourth-wall breaking She-Hulk and Titania.

She-Hulk was the first villain Titania ever fought. These two characters are paired up against each other for their mutual strength and durability and have been seen coming to blows in the comics for a great number of years now. With Titania debuting in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it will be fun to see the rivalry brought to live action.

3 Titania, The Worthy

Under the Fear Itself storyline, the Serpent, older brother to Odin, decided to wage war on Asgaard to take his place as its king. The Serpent needed a villainous team to help him lay claim to Asgaard, and destroy anyone in his way. To answer his call, he called seven hammers to Earth. Titania was worthy of one of these hammers and became the Worthy: Skirn, Breaker of Men.

She was quite the threat during this comic crossover event, but following the final battle with the Serpent, she had her hammer taken away, and then returned to the super prison the Raft. The hammer had lasting effects on Titania, and she had a nervous breakdown at the idea of losing her hammer.

2 Spider-Man Phobia

After Secret Wars, Titania dedicated a new life to a crime back on Earth. However, whilst robbing a jewelry store, none other than the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man intercepted her crime. Spider-Man was ready to fight and quip, as per usual, but Titania with a severe case of arachnophobia was too afraid and ran.

Titania’s arachnophobia was so severe that in the two encounters she had with Spider-Man, she tried to avoid a fight both times. That was until she saw her villain colleague Creel defeated, and had to intervene and fight him.

1 Wielder Of An Infinity Stone

Titania’s hatred for She-Hulk grew to great feats when she was once again beaten, despite her strength training. Titania was then offered the Power Gem from the former Champion of the Universe. The Power Gem is famed for being one of the legendary Infinity Gems.

These Infinity stones are now destroyed in the MCU after the climax of the ten-year Infinity Saga. With that, it is unlikely that Titania will wield the infinity stone that allowed her to easily beat and overpower She-Hulk in battle.

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is now streaming on Disney Plus, with new episodes debuting every Thursday.
