More photographs from the set of director David F. Sandberg’s upcoming film Shazam! Fury of the Gods have leaked online, and these ones offer the first look at Helen Mirren's Hespera. Ever since production on Shazam 2 began at the Atlanta set of Warner Bros., fans have been trying to get a sneak peek at all the action.

Previously, behind-the-scenes photos of Zachary Levi in his new Shazam suit had also gone viral on social media. To avoid the same thing from happening with the rest of the Shazam family, Sandberg then shared a picture of all members in their superhero suits. "Don’t know how long we can keep the new suits from leaking so here’s a pic I took the other day," Sandberg had tweeted. However, fans beat him to revealing the villain Hespera’s look.

Fans have been very excited about Oscar-winning actress Mirren making her debut into the superhero genre with Shazam 2 since the announcement of her joining the project was made. In the leaked images, she is seen wearing a heavily armored costume along with a horned headpiece. She seems to be ready for battle, with a sword hanging around her waist. In one of the shots, she is seen sharing a meal with Shazam, or it could perhaps just be a shot of Mirren and Levi on lunch break.

It has been revealed that Mirren’s Hespera will be one of the daughters of the Greek god Atlas. In Greek Mythology, she is part of a group of nymphs known as the Hesperides. The character will be sisters with Lucy Liu’s Kalypso, another antagonist in the film. Rachel Zegler has also been cast in an unknown role, but many assume she will be seen playing the third sister.

Apart from Levi, Shazam 2 will see many other familiar faces return to reprise their roles as the members of the hero’s family in their children and superhero avatars. Asher Angel is back as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody will play Freddy, Faithe Herman and Meagan Good are Darla, Ian Chen and Ross Bulter play Eugene, Grace Fulton appears as Mary, and Jovan Arman and D.J. Cotrona play Pedro.

Of course, fans are still curious to see if Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, whose own solo project is currently in the midst of production, or Henry Cavill's Superman will appear in the sequel. However, as Shazam 2 continues filming, there is currently no sign that either DC character will join Levi's titular hero in the film, although a lot can change between now and the release date.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is expected to release in theaters on June 2, 2023.
