Grasshopper Manufacture Interested in 'Shadows of The Damned 2'

Grasshopper Interested In Shadows of the Damned 2

Grasshopper Manufacture is known for making some eccentric games, and Shadows of the Damned was no exception. Despite poor sales the team still wants to make a sequel, and even thinks EA would be up for it.

Shadows of the Damned was pretty much, well, damned before it even hit retail. Despite the names of some famous developers behind it, the game received very little marketing - hell, I didn't  even know the game was actually in development until a week before its release. The game only sold 24 000 copies in its first month in the States.

While Shadows of the Damned didn't perform well commercially, Grasshopper is still interested in a sequel, and they better be after that ending. Akira Yamaoka, who composed the game's soundtrack spoke to Eurogamer about it, stating that he's been thinking about it a lot recently.

"I'm thinking of a sequel, actually. I can't tell you here, but clearly I'd like to."

He added after that EA would "probably" fund a sequel, before stating "well, yes."

Shadows of the Damned was created by a dream team of developers if there ever was one. Suda 51's over the top ideas, and Resident Evil's Shinji Mikami's gameplay expertise met with the musical prowess of Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka to create one of 2011's cult hits. The title was really fun, even if the gameplay did rely on a few outdated mechanics. That being said, it's a game that really does beg for a sequel, let's just hope EA actually markets it this time.

Who knows, with all of the recent news regarding next gen consoles, maybe Shadows of the Damned 2 will make its way to the PS4 and Xbox 720. I can just imagine what the "big boner" level would be like...
