In addition to showing off the highly anticipated gameplay reveal of the latest Tomb Raider game, titled Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Square Enix has also revealed the introductory cinematic of the game, as well as a cinematic and gameplay montage of Lara's next adventure at its conference at E3 today. The montage of the game shows footage that gives fans "a taste of what to expect" from the game

The video montage effectively shows unseen glimpses of the variety of environments that Lara Croft will explore in Shadow of the Tomb RaiderThe environments teased in the trailer montage range from thick jungles, elaborate underwater caves, Mayan towns, and deadly tombs. The trailer also gives some more details on the type of enemies that Lara will encounter in this Tomb Raider game. It is evident that Lara will not only be fighting against Trinity, but that she will encounter many wild animals, such as leopards, deadly eels, and a mysterious new villain.

It is also exciting to see from this montage that Lara will be raiding tombs in a variety of new outfits, some of which come with the various special editions of the game. It seems that Lara will have the choice between a standard Tomb Raider outfit, and some more elaborate environment-specific outfits, like she has in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

From the trailer it is clear that Lara has reached a point in her journey where she has mastered all sorts of climbing techniques, effective grappling, and a lot of swimming. And finally, it is evident that she will have an even wider variety of weapons in this game.

We look forward to finding out more about Shadow of the Tomb Raider and what Lara has to offer, as the release date for the game draws closer. Fans that pre-order the game can look forward to being able to play the game two day before the release date.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 14th of this year.
