While all these characters have traits that make them unique, one character— Escanor is head and shoulders above the rest. The Troubled Prince
Before joining the Seven Deadly Sins, Escanor used to be a prince of the Kingdom of Castellio. As a kid, Escanor was timid and weak, which made him an easy target for his older brother. Escanor's brother used to pick on him and Escanor would be left completely defenseless. However, Escanor's life changed once he awakened his power, and then he accidentally broke his brother's arm.
When his parents found out what had happened, they immediately disowned him. Shortly afterward, the entire Kingdom felt that Escanor was a threat to them, and so they rallied up the troops to kill him. Luckily for Escanor, there was a woman named Rosa, who did not find him threatening, and she helped the young prince escape from Castellio. However, Escanor's life was still extremely hard as he was treated as a monster wherever he went. His life only got better once he met Meliodas and co.
Sin of Pride
Escanor's power— Sunshine is among the most remarkable abilities in the series. Depending on what time of the day, Escanor's appearance and personality would change. During the daytime, he would come off as a powerful man, who was full of pride, while at night, Escanor's body looked frail, and he was very polite.
During his day form, Escanor was a force to be reckoned with. He was willing to pass judgment on people who he found to be guilty, and once he got going, it was almost impossible to stop him. Escanor's contrasting personalities made him a truly special character. Above all Escanor's resolve to get something done is unmatched.
The Hero Among Heroes
Escanor was known for his ridiculous strength. His ability Sunshine, granted him an immense amount of power, which he used to fight against all kinds of enemies. Escanor was involved in some of the most outstanding fights in the series, and it is fair to say that his involvement in these fights is what made them truly eye-catching. Escanor's fight versus Estarossa was an absolute gem of a fight, which displayed Escanor's arrogant nature. Estarossa's Commandment of Love prevented anyone who harbored hatred in their hearts to attack.
His Commandment made it impossible for every Holy Knight to move, everyone except for Escanor. When Escanor started to walk towards Estarossa, the latter was surprised to see that there was someone who was unaffected by his Commandment. Escanor remained unaffected simply because he did not hate Estarossa, instead, he pitied the demon. Escanor would go on to play important roles in other fights especially when the Seven Deadly Sins had to fight the Demon King.
The Man With The Resolve
Escanor's doggedness to save the lives of his friends was inspiring. While he was arrogant during the day, he retained the love that he had for his fellow sins. When the Seven Deadly Sins had to face the Demon King, Escanor did not have the power of Sunshine anymore. So, he asked Mael to lend the power to him one last time. Mael was reluctant, but eventually, he did it.
The rest of the Sins heavily criticized Escanor's choice, but the latter had made up his mind and he was willing to sacrifice his own life to protect his comrades. When Escanor got the power back, he used The One: Ultimate to fight the Demon King. The One: Ultimate was a double-edged sword that granted Escanor immense power, but it came at the cost of his own life. Escanor.
The Best
Escanor is the perfect combination of personality and power, and it made him an ideal character. He took down various kinds of monsters, and helped to save the world. He cared about his friends the most, because they were the first people who did not consider him a monster. They welcomed him as if he was one of their own. Escanor's personality was a breath of fresh air as there are not many characters, who can be arrogant and back up their statements with their power.
Most of the side characters usually fail to keep their word and require rigorous training to become strong, however, Escanor was different. He was strong right from the very beginning, and he did not undergo any kind of training. All these qualities make Escanor a brilliant character and undoubtedly the best member of the Seven Deadly Sins.
