One may wonder if The Boys' creative team can still keep up their style four seasons in, but executive producer Seth Rogen assured fans that they are.

Something that made The Boys so appealing to its fanbase was that it was willing to venture into new areas in the superhero genre that companies like Marvel and DC would not do, like making the action as gory as possible while making the superheroes the antagonists of the story. Rogen recently admitted that the show's upcoming fourth season, which started filming around the same time The Boys season 3 ended, is very much keeping up the same shock and awe that the first three seasons provided.

In an interview with Collider, Rogen admitted that the content that The Boys season 4 will provide is going to offer even more shock value than it already has, which surprises even him. “I can't be more shocked by what they're doing over there. They find a way to shock me even more,” Rogen told Collider. Rogen did not provide any spoilers for the next season of The Boys, but knowing where the show left off, the fact that it still has shock value after the events of its last season shows that it should only get worse from here.

Rogen's comments aren't all too surprising because the show definitely hinted at things getting worse from here. Homelander realized he could actually do as he pleased and will still have a loyal fanbase no matter what. Soldier Boy was not killed at the end of last season, so it may only be a matter of time until he is released yet again, which will be even worse than last time because he now has an axe to grind with the boys since they went back on their agreement. Worse yet, there is a conspiracy for supes to take over the world now that Homelander and Victoria Neuman are working together to gain power in office.

The real question fans should be asking after three seasons of this show, and the fourth one on its way, is, what is the end game to all of this? The show has made it clear that while Homelander deserves some empathy for how all alone he is at the top, he has to be stopped because he virtually has no rival and can kill everyone at a moment's notice. The boys tried acquiring temporary superpowers as well as freeing Soldier Boy to stop him, but that only led to things arguably becoming worse. As exciting as this all is, there has to be an endpoint to all of this.

That's not to say anyone's looking forward to the end of this show. The Boys has been as captivating as it is because of how different the world here is compared to other superhero media where the supes are the protagonists. The Boys has never held back in its disturbing scenes to show just how far it will go. As exciting as all of that is, the show needs to know how it all ends so that fans won't be disappointed when it reaches its climax.

The Boys seasons 1-3 can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
