Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki is bringing his visionary brand of game development to a new franchise in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While Sekiro will be leaving behind some of the Dark Souls' series RPG trappings, other facets are being retained and built upon. Incredible boss fights are perhaps one of the most important such facets. With Sekiro's launch quickly approaching, From Software's prepared another trailer teasing one of those explosive fights.

Today's teaser trailer features Lady Butterfly. Those who have been following Sekiro's development may recall that the Lady Butterfly boss fight was shown to media over a month ago, but that no gameplay was ultimately shared of the fight.

At the time, the fight was described as a perfect example of how Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is taking Dark Souls' style of wild boss fights and adding to it. By only having to accommodate the playstyles of a single character in Sekiro, as opposed to the fully customizable characters of Dark Souls, From Software can create much more richer and complex fight sequences.

While the short teaser trailer doesn't last long enough to get into gameplay, prospective players can already see what From Software is planning. Lady Butterfly, despite her advanced age, leaps within the framing of the temple as well as between thin, near-invisible wires she's placed.

She's dextrous and fast, plus clearly has some tricks up her sleeves as shown by her suddenly "snapping" lengthy kunai into her hands. Movement will be key in Sekiro's Lady Butterfly fight, including managing range and attacking during the brief moments that she pauses.

Beyond Lady Butterfly herself, From Software's propensity for epic boss fight locations is also featured in the trailer. The blazing temple, its walls lined with crumbling statues, fills the fight with an anxious atmosphere as ash and flame fall from the ceiling. Normally, the time left before the building crumbles would be of utmost importance, but the way both Sekiro and Lady Butterfly compose themselves before their fight shows that they will stay until one of them dies.

More information on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be coming in the weeks ahead as launch nears. Hopefully, we will see more gameplay with new boss fights down the line.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice releases March 22 on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
