With Sonic Frontiers now only a month away from release, the game's system requirements have been revealed for players looking to play on PC. This game is looking to be a big ambitious shakeup from past mainline entries, with the Sonic series taking on a semi open-world setting. Fans have been getting their chance to try out the game through public demos of Sonic Frontiers at various gaming industry events. This includes Tokyo Game Show, EGX London, and even PAX AUS, with lines for these being packed to the point of needing to be closed, and positive impressions afterwards.

These demos were all being demonstrated on all the platforms the game would be appearing on, including the Switch, next-gen consoles, and PC. With Sonic Frontiers releasing on all of these platforms, there's a chance some gamers are wondering what would be the best system to play it on, or for PC players, if their system can handle running the game. Players can finally check to see if their PC hardware can stack up, as Sega and Sonic Team have released the official specs needed for the game.

These requirements can be seen on Sonic Frontiers' Steam Page, which gives both the minimum and recommended specs for the most enjoyable experience. According to this page, it will require at least an Intel Core i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 processor, along with at least 8 GB of RAM. The recommended specs include an Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, with 12 GB of RAM as well. PC players will be looking at a file size of 30 GB of data on their systems too.

These PC specs also seemingly confirm the expected frame rates and graphical output of Sonic Frontiers too. It will have a minimum resolution of 720p with 30FPS at its lowest settings while the recommended settings note a 1080p resolution at 60FPS for its high setting. The required operating system is the 64-bit version of Windows 10 as well. In comparison to its console competition, the PS5 will feature 4K resolution at only 30FPS while having the game at 1080p will allow for 60FPS. The PS4 version will similarly be limited to 1080p and 30FPS, with the Switch version being optimized for 720p and 30FPS.

Sega and Sonic Team have been showing off quite a bit in its lead-up to release, with various gameplay videos, trailers, and demos that have left a positive impression. Some of the upcoming DLC is also impressing long-time fans, as evidenced with a Sonic Frontiers cosmetic item that calls back to one of the franchise's most beloved entries.
