After having tested its 2020 Titan model, Secretlab became one of Game Rant’s most recommended gaming chairs for its high-quality manufacturing, unbeatable comfort, and a varied feature set. For 2022's Titan Evo line, Secretlab isn’t completely reinventing the wheel, but it has made smart improvements to the Titan that make it yet another top quality chair.

From material to design, the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 Model still puts the greatest focus on comfort. Whether it’s the new 4-way L-Adapt lumbar support system or the new Cloudswap technology on the 4D armrests, the Titan Evo 2022 can make those fine-tuned adjustments that ensure each user’s needs are met.

Game Rant was provided a Titan Evo 2022 model that features SoftWeave Plus fabric, which Secretlab claims is more durable and breathable than its SoftWeave fabric. We previously tested the Leatherette material on the 2020 model and while it was equally comfortable and arguably more "professional-looking," the SoftWeave feels more like sitting on couch material than an office chair. Ultimately, though, the material choice comes down to personal preference between Leatherette or the SoftWeave material, but both are high quality and comfortable.

The 4-way L-Adapt Lumbar support system is a major focal point because of how customizable it is. Each user can adjust the support either up or down or in or out via two separate knobs on the left and right of the chair. Lumbar support on the Secretlab chairs is the key to long-lasting comfort without any noticeable pain afterward, and being able to dial in the exact support points is a huge plus on this model. Gaming chairs are meant to be somewhat rigid, because the goal is keeping the spine aligned and not letting long gaming sessions lead to issues.

Other key improvements/tweaks made for the 2022 Titan Evo model include the aforementioned Cloudswap armrests, which now attach via magnets. The chair ships with the standard plastic armrest tops but users can also upgrade to a new material called Technogel that has just enough give to help reduce stress and pressure on the arms and elbows. If one person prefers one material to another, the armrest tops are extremely easy to pop off using Cloudswap, but in our testing we found the Technogel was the superior option. And like with the 2020 model, the Titan Evo 2022's armrests can pivot in or out, they can raise or lower, and they can slide forward or back.

Secretlab has also introduced a new memory foam option for the Cloudswap armrests that is made from the same material has the head pillow. Where the Technogel is a little firmer while still contouring to a user's resting arm, the memory form is a lot softer. Both options are great and will come down to personal preference, but the Memory Foam armrest was a little more comfortable to use on a daily basis.

Secretlab has also opted to use magnets for its Memory Foam Head Pillow, instead of the strap that prior models used. As a result, the user can fine-tune the placement of the head pillow to rest exactly where they want. It’s also a lot easier to adjust the placement of the pillow while sitting, rather than having to fiddle with a strap. That being said, the use of magnets does mean that the pillow is more likely to pop off of the chair if the user makes any aggressive movements. This option is still preferable to the strap, but it’s certainly something to make note of.

Most of the other design elements on the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 model are similar to the 2020 model. The pebble seat base has a slight curve to allow users to tuck their legs back under the chair if they so choose. Some of the design elements on the chair like the coverings for nuts and bolts are more streamlined, but overall the Titan 2022 is just as great of a chair as the 2020.

Ultimately, it will depend on the budget and the user whether they will want to upgrade to the 2022 model, but those who do will not be disappointed by the upgrade. And for those who have not tried out one of Secretlab’s chairs, it is easy to recommend them. They are designed with comfort and posture in mind, offering just enough give to make long gaming sessions a breeze and a ton of support to ensure you don’t get up with any pains in your back or legs. There are a lot of different options available in terms of design, material, and size, but it’s nearly impossible to go wrong with the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022.
