A launch trailer was released today for upcoming co-op pirate game Sea of Thieves. The trailer showcases various gameplay features that players can expect to participate in when the game launches later this month.

Sea of Thieves is being developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios. In it, players will team up to go on a bevy of pirate adventures, all without the risk of scurvy. From searching for lost treasures to engaging in ship-to-ship battles, the title looks to let gamers live out their deepest pirate fantasies. From the looks of the trailer, a creature similar to the kraken seems to be lurking in the waters waiting to take out any unsuspecting ships as well.

The title just recently had a closed beta back in January. Though there were server issues with the closed beta, it was extended by a few days, so players who initially had issues connecting could still have a fair share of time with the game. Despite the initial technical issues, overall feedback from those who played the beta seemed to be positive.

For those worried about being able to play co-op with their friends due to owning different platforms, like those who own an Xbox One but have friends picking it up on PC or vice versa, there is no need for worry. Microsoft has already announced that the game will feature cross platform play between Xbox One and PC, so players can still raid the Seven Seas with their friends, even if they don't all own the game on the same system.

Sea of Thieves is also getting some love on the Xbox One front, as there will be console bundles and even a custom glow-in-the-dark controller. To further promote the release of the title, Microsoft even went so far as to launch a real life quest that tasks players with finding clues in search for golden bananas. A special site was created specifically for the quest where participants can go to check their clues and submit answers.

As another bonus, those who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass will have access to the game on launch day. It was earlier announced by Microsoft that Sea of Thieves would be part of March's lineup of titles that were being added to the service.

Sea of Thieves releases on March 20th for PC and Xbox One.
