Scream 6 has added Ready or Not star Samara Weaving and Spider-Man: No Way Home's Tony Revolori to the already-stacked cast of Ghostface's next killing spree.

Over ten years after the fourth Scream film was released, the franchise was relaunched with a sixth installment under the direction of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The 2022 sequel was such a financial succeces that Paramount quickly announced it was moving forward with Scream 6, with the same directing duo returning alongside Scream (2022) writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

While Bloody Disgusting broke the news of Weaving and Revolori joining the cast of Scream 6, details on their characters were not shared. As fans of Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett likely know already, Weaving previously worked with the duo on Ready or Not, in which she played a newlywed named Grace who finds self being hunted by her spouse's wealthy Satan-worshipping family. As previously mentioned, Revolori is likely best known for playing Flash Thompson in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, but he's also received praise for his work on other projects such as Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Weaving and Revolori join a cast that already includes a mixture of returning Scream veterans and newcomers, such Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Dermot Mulroney, and Mission: Impossible star Henry Czerny. Sadly, Neve Campbell will be sitting out Scream 6 over reported salary disputes, marking the first time she will not appear in one of the franchise's feature film entries. Production on Scream 6 has already started and while little is know about the plot, the story will reportedly be moving from the iconic town of Woodsboro to New York City.

Setting Scream 6 in New York City is largely considered a good move for the franchise, which aside from the third installment has always taking place mostly in Woodsboro. It's not like the franchise has been suffering at the box office, but if Scream 6 is going to improve on it's predeessors, setting Ghostface's next rampage is the Big Apple is certainly one way to keep things fresh. Ortega has already promised Scream 6 will feature the most violent Ghostface yet, so audiences likely have high expectations for the sequel.

Scream 6 is scheduled to release in theaters on March 31, 2023.
