Of all the video games to be lost due to licensing woes, Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game is one of the most devastating. Now with the game coming up on its 10th anniversary, one member of the team is sharing production material.

Artist and animator Jonathan Kim, who worked on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, has re-revealed some of the artwork he created for the project. The selected pieces in Kim's tweet show three of the antagonists of the game including two of playable character Ramona Flower's Evil Exes. The last image shows some of the designs during what would be the Todd Ingram fight.

Kim, who now serves as Senior Animator at developer Lab Zero Games, found the artwork on his "old Tumblr" profile which features more characters. These include the first boss fight of the game with Matthew Patel and one of the playable characters Kim Pine. Both of these feature the full page layout of all the planned moves. Kim noted in his tweet that he needs to "update it with more production material" meaning there is likely more stored away, ready to be released.

The update on Kim's twitter hits when Scott Pilgrim has hit the consciousness once again. As noted, both the game and the film based on artists Brian Lee O'Malley's comic series are celebrating their 10 year anniversary. The game has become a notorious sore point for many fans due to its unavailability for almost six years. While those who owned the game could re-download it, players are still unable to purchase the product and no physical edition was ever released.

Recently, rumors have swirled about a possible re-release of the game. While Brian Lee O'Malley has wanted the game to be available again for years, a recent tweet has reignited hope. During a watch party of the now cult-favorite film with members of the cast and director Edgar Wright, a response to one of O'Malley's tweets got people buzzing. After the creator tweeted to "bring back the scott pilgrim game", publisher of the title Ubisoft responded with a thinking emoji.

Hopefully this all indicates that good news is on the way as one of the best beat-em-ups has held a noticeable absence. With recent bangers like Streets of Rage 4 and River City Girls, it is the perfect time for Scott Pilgrim to make a comeback.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game is currently unavailable for purchase.
