Scorn, an Xbox console exclusive, may have been delayed into 2022. The news comes out of a press release from a new "super developer" named Kepler Interactive. Scorn was originally set to release in 2021.

Developer Ebb Software's Scorn is a bizarre and creepy horror first person shooter that was most recently shown off last year as a PC and Xbox exclusive. Along with titles such as The Medium and State of Decay 3, Scorn was one of the headlining scary titles that made the Xbox Series X a go-to console for all things spooky. But according to Kepler Interactive, fans may have to wait a bit longer for Scorn's release.

In a press release today, it was announced that Kepler Interactive has been formed as a group co‑owned and run by developers A44, Alpha Channel, Awaceb, Ebb Software, Shapefarm, Sloclap, and Timberline. The seven developers all will be able to take advantage of the $120 million in funding, the strategic decisions and shared resources, and the combined benefits and successes. Among the details was the fact that Scorn is a highly anticipated game, but one that is slated for 2022. While not 100% confirmed, it looks like this newly founded group shared information that was not yet public. Fans have not had a lot to go on since the Scorn gameplay reveal last year.

why scorn is on xbox

The delay perhaps should not come as a surprise. Although Scorn originally looked quite interesting to many gamers, Ebb Software has gone dark on the project for quite some time. Scorn looked like a perfect release for the horrifying month of October 2021 in gaming. However, as 2021 is getting closer to wrapping up and Scorn still does not have a release date, the probable push to 2022 seems all the more reasonable.

If true, the hope is that the delay will only improve the game as a whole. While delays are not enjoyable in the moment, the final product is often better for it in the long run. Ebb Software believes there is impressive technology in the newer consoles, as the Xbox Series X is certainly a powerful console with plenty of features. Along with the trailer and gameplay for Scorn looking incredibly eerie, a lot of the discussion around the game has had to do with the technology, so the more time Ebb Software has to develop the game the better.

Scorn is in development for PC and Xbox Series X and is rumored to be delayed until 2022.
