After falling prey to Warner Bros. Discovery's round of cancellations, Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! has been leaked online.

Warner Bros. Discovery began purging content from their streaming platform HBO Max during the summer of 2022 and cancelling upcoming projects in various production states. According to WB, the reason for the cancellations was to receive tax write-offs on projects they didn't see as lucrative enough. While many projects fell victim to this decision, the Scooby-Doo franchise took a lot of hits. Several upcoming Scooby-Doo projects were cancelled, including the DC crossover Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!

On March 6th, the entirety of Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! was released online from an unknown source (H/T CBR). While the leak coincided with the announcement that the animated series Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pups was no longer in the works, there is no evidence that the two events were related. This is the first time any of the projects that Warner Bros. Discovery cancelled for tax breaks have been leaked online, which makes it the first cancelled WBD project available to the general public. Due to taking tax write-downs for all the cancelled content, WBD is not allowed to officially release any of the projects they scrapped, which means leaks like this will be the only way people can access these movies and series.

Scooby And The Gang In Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?

Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! would have been the latest in a long line of crossovers in the Scooby-Doo franchise. Previously, The Scooby Gang has shared the screen with Batman and Robin, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and even professional wrestlers. Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! would have seen The Scooby Gang crossing paths with some of DC's biggest heroes and villains: Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, the Flash, the Joker, Lex Luthor, and - of course - Krypto the Superdog, Superman's trusty canine sidekick. The cast included Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Matthew Lillard, Kate Micucci, P.J. Byrne, Victoria Grace, Charles Halford, Nolan North, Fred Tatasciore, James Arnold Taylor, Niccole Thurman, and Tara Strong.

Along with questions about who leaked the movie and why it was leaked now, the unofficial release of Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! naturally prompts questions regarding whether more of WBD's scrapped content will finally see the light of day. Now that one has escaped WBD's grasp, other cancelled Scooby Doo projects could follow suit. For example, the Scoob! sequel Scoob! Holiday Haunt could find its way into the public space. Unfortunately, Scooby-Doo and the Haunted High Rise, which would have featured the return of The Hex Girls, wasn't animated before being shelved.

Equally - if not more - exciting is the prospect that Batgirl could be leaked. One of WBD's most anticipated cancelled projects, Batgirl was being shown to test audiences when WBD decided to add it to the pile of films and series they were cutting for tax purposes. Although a single leak doesn't guarantee anything, it does open the door to the possibility of more leaks in the future. There may still be hope for DC fans waiting to see the purple-and-yellow-clad heroine on-screen.
