The popular Disney Plus series WandaVision finally introduced fans to one of Marvel's most powerful characters in her true form. In the season one finale, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) confronted the evil witch Agatha Harkness in the skies above Westview. After an epic battle of magic and wits, Wanda finally broke free of Agatha's control and took on her true form as "The Scarlet Witch," even dawning a brand new costume. This cosplayer has created an impressive interpretation of that costume, really nailing the look and style of the MCU Scarlet Witch.

As the first of what is likely to be many MCU Disney Plus shows, WandaVision had a lot to prove. Thankfully for Marvel, the show quickly captured audiences with its unique sitcom style and charismatic performances. While some fans and critics gave the show mixed reviews as further episodes premiered, it's easy to say that the first season of WandaVision was relatively successful, paving the way for future MCU shows like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Loki series. The show also added a lot to Wanda Maximoff's character, who had been previously regulated to more supporting roles, and her new costume more accurately reflected the comic book version of the outfit.

The Scarlet Witch typically wears all red, drawing a cape and a face mask that has points on either side. Her costume in WandaVision was pretty accurate, albeit toned down a little and done in the trademark leather and rubber style that we see other heroes in the MCU wear. This costume serves as the inspiration for this impressive cosplay from Florencia Sofen, who has made an impressively accurate recreation of the costume worn by Elizabeth Olsen in WandaVision. Posing with Wanda's signature red chaos magic illuminating from her hands, Sofen bears an incredible resemblance to Olsen. Sofen is an extremely accomplished cosplayer, and if you browse her Instagram you'll be treated to other MCU cosplays such as Captain Marvel.

Before the Disney Plus series, Wanda Maximoff's costumes didn't really scream superhero. She was usually depicted as wearing more civilian-style clothes. While her red leather coat and costume did bear some resemblance to her comic book alter ego, it was more of a wink rather than an adaptation. Also, nobody called her the Scarlet Witch. However, once WandaVision premiered, it was clear that the Scarlet Witch was going to get the attention she deserves.

See, in the comics, Wanda is arguably one of the most powerful Marvel characters ever. She's been able to rewrite reality and history and create life out of nothing. While the movies did show off her confusing and impressive abilities, WandaVision managed to delve into this a little more, exploring her use of chaos magic and her prophetic destiny to become the Scarlet Witch. Most importantly though, it finally gave the character her Scarlet Witch superhero costume, which some felt was impossible to adapt for the screen.

WandaVision is now available on Disney Plus.
