After more than a year of Epic Games Store exclusivitySatisfactory is now available in Early Access on Steam. This means that a myriad of new players are currently diving into this building game for the very first time, and one of the machines that they will want to setup in the earliest stages of Satisfactory is none other than the Portable Miner. That said, the way to get a Portable Miner established may not be immediately obvious to every fan, and this guide to provide all the details.

To start, Satisfactory's Portable Miner can be crafted at an Equipment Workshop as soon as a player has earned the Hub Upgrade 1 Tier 0 Milestone. It is created by combining Iron Plates and Iron Rods, and players will find the Portable Miner in their inventories once it has been crafted. From there, fans are ready to place the Portable Miner, and here is how that is done.

First, a player should hold Tab and double-click on the Portable Miner in their inventory to put it their character's hands. Next, the player should press V to use their Resource Scanner, and they should then navigate to any resource node that it locates. Upon arriving at the resource node, fans should then move around it until they receive an onscreen prompt to pickup the ore, and they should then simply left-click to place the Portable Miner in this open-world game.

After the machine has been deployed, it will automatically begin harvesting ore, and players can see the resources that the Portable Miner has collected by pressing E when near it. These resources can easily be removed from the machine by selecting Grab All from within its interface, and Satisfactory players can know that their Portable Miner is full (which occurs when it has collected a full stack of ore) if it is no longer animated.

To note, fans that wish to move a Portable Miner in Satisfactory can pick one up by pressing Pick Up Miner in its interface. They are then free to place the Portable Miner on a new resource node, and it will continue to collect resources as players dive deeper into this title from the developer behind Goat Simulator, Coffee Stain Studios.

Satisfactory is available now on PC.
