Sandra Bullock has talked about being offered a superhero role in the past only to have turned it down. The actress also wouldn't reveal what the project itself actually was, but she did address whether it was for Marvel or DC.

The topic of superhero movies is definitely a divisive one in the cinephile world. Directors, writers, and actors all have their respective views of these movies. It seems that there isn't a unified vision for where everybody sees this genre going. Bullock has yet to be in a Marvel or DC movie, but she was rumored at one point to be playing Wonder Woman in a Warner Bros. project many years before Gal Gadot was announced to be the Amazonian warrior.

During a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Bullock sat down to discuss various topics, including the many movies she's been a part of and rumors about a Spider-Man role. When the topic of superhero movies came up, Bullock gave her honest answer to the talk show host. "I was approached for something that wasn't Marvel, but my son said not to do it," she explained. "It was kind of in the place that Louis felt I shouldn't be... and he was actually right. I saw it when it came out and I was like, 'Ooo! That's unfortunate.'"

It's unclear what movie Bullock is actually referring to, but the actress went on to say that the project wasn't a DC movie either. She offered a clue to fans by mentioning that her son was 6 at the time of the offer, saying that the internet will probably be able to figure it out. While Bullock could still land a Marvel role in the future, she stated frankly, "I don't think I'm Marvel material."

Comic book movies, as of late, have been doing a good job at casting the right talent for the right roles. It's always nice when an Academy Award-winning actor steps into the comic book world. The reason is their presence helps solidify comic book movies as something valid and deserving of attention, despite what is being said by superhero movie critics like Ridley Scott. It's also nice to see a superhero movie where the actor really brings the character to life with their Award-winning talent.

Of course, sometimes actors just aren't interested in the world of superheroes, and that's okay. While comic book films like Eternals have been trying to break the superhero formula, at the end of the day, these movies aren't for everyone. There's something out there for everybody and if one enjoys comic book movies, there's plenty on the way to keep them satisfied for many years to come.
