Samurai Warriors 5 is set to release in just a few months, and leading up to its launch developer Omega Force and Koei Tecmo have released a new trailer to build excitement. Originally the cast of playable characters for Samurai Warriors 5 was revealed to be 27, and now a character trailer has been released detailing and announcing who many of them are.

Samurai Warriors 5 is the fifth game in the series and a part of the long-running Warriors series published by Koei Tecmo. The games have picked up more steam as of late thanks to successful crossovers with the likes of One Piece, Fire Emblem, and The Legend of Zelda (Hyrule Warriors). With that in mind, it should not be a surprise that Samurai Warriors 5 is also coming to the Nintendo Switch, and that crowd should also be excited about today's trailer.

The Samurai Warriors 5 trailer announces four new fighters, as well as some variations on characters that players may already recognize. The new characters include Sandayū Momochi, who is the head of the Iga Ninjas; a mysterious Ninja Swordmaster named Hattori Hanzō; a mercenary named Magoichi Saika; and a samurai of great ability named Yasuke, who serves under Nobunaga.

Along with the new characters, the trailer also showcases different versions of characters the fans have not seen such as the adult variation of "The Demon King” Nobunaga Oda. The video itself shows new gameplay footage of Samurai Warriors 5, and is very in-depth, as it details so many characters, shows plenty of story elements, and has tons of secrets to uncover for fans. The character trailer is just a taste of what is to come in the full release.

Samurai Warriors 5 releases on July 27 for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
