Samuel L. Jackson may have revealed his next MCU appearance as Nick Fury. While the 73-year-old actor is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Disney Plus series Secret Invasion, he also hinted at the character's presence in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Fans have long awaited the return of one of Marvel's most beloved characters, who was last seen in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. At the time, a post-credits scene revealed that Fury is away from Earth and that the Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) is replacing him on our planet, but it appears Ant-Man 3 may be just one of three MCU projects featuring the long-time hero.
While speaking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jackson let slip that fans will see Fury in the forthcoming third installment of the Ant-Man franchise. "When I was in London just now, it was like Ant-Man and Captain Marvel 2 was happening, and we were getting ready to do Secret Invasion," he told Horowitz. "So it's like three Marvel movies on one lot. I was kind of running around from place to place."
Although Jackson's appearance on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a new piece of information, his role in The Marvels isn't. The actor previously revealed in an August 2021 Instagram post that he would be back for the anticipated sequel to the 2019 film. "Guess what time it is! Back in the box, just in The Nick of time!" he captioned a series of photos, including one of his prosthetic beards and one of himself on his trailer.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently in post-production and arrives theatrically in July 2023. In addition to Jackson, the cast includes Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kathryn Newton, as well as Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, the film's main antagonist. Captain Marvel 2 debuts on February 17, 2023, while Secret Invasion doesn't have a release date yet.
Meanwhile, the next big Marvel project to come is Moon Knight, which streams on Disney Plus on March 30. The live-action series stars Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Moon Knight, a mercenary who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, a deranged cult leader who encourages Spector to embrace his inner darkness. Moon Knight will also see the late Gaspard Ulliell in his final role before his tragic death at the age of 37 following a skiing accident in France.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania debuts on July 28, 2023.
