Samsung reveals its line of Odyssey gaming monitors, which all have QLED screens. At CES 2020, Samsung also announced SelfieType, which is an invisible keyboard that can be used with mobile devices.

G7 and G9 are the names of the new Samsung Odyssey monitors which will launch in Q2 2020. There are three models of the curved monitors as the G7 comes in 27" and 32" versions and the G9 is available as a 49" version. The monitors do look incredible and the blue design on the back makes them look like some sort of Fortnite skin. This light can also be dimmed and customized. However, it's the specs that Samsung is saying makes them so good for gaming. The Samsung Odyssey monitors offer 240hz RapidCurve and a 1ms response time which means that gamers will see no graphical lag. The QLED screens which also make games look great and can show a wider range of colors.

Samsung also says that the curved screens will help to reduce eye fatigue. Curved screens are said to direct light from all angles to a user's eye which should make the eyes work less hard to see everything. LG has also released its own curved gaming monitor but Samsung will feel that its monitors are special because they have been given the Eye Comfort award by TÜV Rheinland. Eye Comfort tests blue light in displays, if the displays flicker, and if they show reflections. The Samsung Odyssey monitors were also given a CES Innovation Award.

Samsung has 18% of the gaming monitor market and it will hope that these new monitors will be able to grow that some more. What will be really important though is how much the Samsung monitors cost. Gamers are happy to pay a huge amount of money for quality gaming accessories and some of the rarest video game accessories have been sold for thousands of dollars. Samsung's new monitors aren't likely to be cheap but it knows that there are plenty of people who are okay with that.

The new Samsung monitors also aren't trying to be loved by people who only have a few hundred dollars to spend on a new screen. It seems like these have been created for streamers who stream for hours and professional gamers who need those faster refresh rates.
