Genkibowl VII, the previously announced first DLC in a set of three planned releases, is finally available today, and we have a new trailer to celebrate. Much like the entire bulk of Saints Row: The Third, Genkibowl places players into scenarios that are not easily described, but sure are a joy to experience.

Among those Genkibowl VII events are Sad Panda Skyblazing, Sexy Kitten Yarngasm, Apocalypse Genki, and Super Ethical PR Opportunity. How exactly these events will play out in full is hard to glean — this is of course the game that introduced a giant purple phallic bat — but the new trailer does well to tease each.

It also wouldn’t be Saints Row: The Third DLC, not 40-weeks worth yet, without some new costumes, weapons, and traps for players to fool around with. Obviously that sad panda outfit ranks pretty high on the must-have list, but there appear to be a few other little tricks, like the flamethrower attachment for cars, that Volition has thrown in for good measure. If the single player campaign was any indication, our best guess is that many of the whacky items seen whilst surviving Genkibowl VII will be unlockable upon completion.

Are you ready for some football…I mean Genkibowl:

Now, if Genkibowl VII doesn’t tickle your Saints Row: The Third fancy, there are still two more planned DLC releases, Gangstas in Space and The Trouble with Clones, set to hit in Winter and Spring of 2012 respectively. Like Genkibowl, we have some fleeting indications as to how these DLCs might plan out, but in the world of Saints Row expectations are usually not just exceeded but shot a dozen times in the crotch.

Saints Row: The Third might not have the visual panache of a title like Grand Theft Auto, and it might not boast revolutionary gameplay mechanics, but it more than makes up for those shortcomings in its willingness to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the player. Check out the single player campaign and you’ll absolutely be ready for more Saints Row in the Genkibowl.

Saints Row: The Third ‘Genkibowl VII’ DLC is available now for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
