This edition of Saints Row: The Third’s ‘Cherished Memories’ series focuses on the friendlier side of Volition’s game, the co-op side. While most promotional material, thus far, has been geared towards selling gamers on the over-the-top action sequences and balls-to-the-wall characters, there is still a pretty deep team experience available.

There’s even a perfect place to team up with a buddy and take on waves of enemies in Saints Row: The Third’s ‘Whored Mode,’ but that’s not what we’re talking about either.

What Saints Row: The Third wants to give players is the ability to create those moments that leave them rolling on the ground laughing at the scenario they just created -- one that is only possible in this game.

There really haven’t been much details shared, aside from the aforementioned ‘Whored Mode,’ about how Volition plans to create a unique co-op experience, but one can imagine something pretty exciting is brewing. Sure, getting to attach a handful of C4 charges to a buddy and send them into the midst of a rival gang will get a laugh, but that doesn’t explain many of the systems and features that will be available to multiplayer-oriented players. But enough about multiplayer, let's focus on what we do know about the game.

Also on display are the various taunts and insults that players can wield in the game — all pre-crafted using the Saints Row Initiation Station. On top of that players will also be about to outfit their characters will unique and zany costume/clothing combinations like the cowboy get-up seen in the first Cherished Memory. From beginning to eng, Saints Row: The Third is going to be the ultimate sandbox.

Professor Genki’s Super Ethical Reality Climax tries to create that multiplayer experience, albeit in a single player campaign, but perhaps that’s where the game is headed, we just haven’t seen it yet.

There’s still about two more weeks until Saints Row: The Third releases, leaving gamers with most likely two more ‘Cherished Memories’ trailers. I hope they’re good ones.

What crazy scenarios do you think you and a buddy could come up with in Saints Row: The Third? How important is multiplayer/co-op to this game?

Saints Row: The Third releases November 15, 2011 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
