There are few games that rival the over-the-top antics and inappropriateness of the Saints Row series, and that’s largely why the franchise has accumulated a solid following of dedicated fans. The zaniness of Deep Silver’s newly acquired property will indeed remain intact in the fourth installment, but now gamers looking to drop a little extra cash can bring some of the in-game craziness into the real world with the newly announced Saints Row 4 Collector’s Edition.
Branded as something just as nuts as the game itself, the collector’s edition of Saints Row 4 — officially known as The Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition — comes packed with a myriad of in-game items that are set to come packed in with the Commander in Chief edition. If that weren’t enough, consumers will also receive a number of collectibles based on items found within SR4.
Fans that snag the Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition will be treated to alternate box art for the title, as well as in-game goodies such as the screaming eagle jet, ‘Merica weapon, and Uncle Sam suit. Accompanying those, however, will be a 12 inch Dub Step gun replica that actually comes packing a laser sight and sound effects — both of which are drawn straight from the weapon’s actual design within the game.
Furthermore, fans will receive an 8 inch Johnny Gat Memorial Statue, so that the greatest Saint to ever live can always be remembered. Last, but certainly not least, this special Saint’s Row 4 SKU will also include a pocket-sized Dubstep Doomsday Button so that consumers can burst into random dance on the go.
Now comes the part where fans learn how much the Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition of SR4 will actually cost them, and to be honest it’s quite affordable when compared to some of the more recent collector’s editions. Set to retail for an estimated cost of $99.99, this makes it quite a bit cheaper than the likes of BioShock Infinite‘s Song Bird Edition — and it comes with just as many real-world collectibles to boot.
Saints Row 4 and its newly announced collector’s edition will both be available on August 20th in North America.
