Playing a delightful game with friends can be nothing short of a blast, and one of the better co-op experiences that has come out in recent years is Sackboy: A Big Adventure. This adventure platformer features Sackboy looking to stop the evil Vex from turning Craftsworld into his own twisted vision.

This game launched with the PlayStation 5 and initially just had local co-op. However, it only took a month for the game to add online co-op. Now, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is out now on PC as well, allowing an all-new audience to experience the silly shenanigans of jumping through Craftsworld.

How To Play Co-Op On PlayStation

There are a few different methods to experience multiplayer action in Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PlayStation. The different types of co-op modes can be split between online play and local play. To have a friend play locally, simply turn on and sync another controller to the PlayStation.

Up to four players can pick up the game locally, but the most important part is that each player must have a controller readily available to use. This will allow everyone in the room to play some challenges that are available to multiple people and a couple of the co-op exclusive levels that are necessary to play for specific trophies.

Online co-op is a bit more complicated. When hitting pause, players will see an option on the left that says to play online. Here, players will be given three options: Join an online game, host an online game, or invite friends. While the other two options will allow individuals to join random people online, inviting friends will open a private room for just the people on a friends list.

On top of this, Sackboy: A Big Adventure does allow cross-generation play between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. All the player will have to do is enable the option to open a room up for players on different devices. The option is located right under the "Invite Friends" selection.

How To Play Co-Op On PC

Those who play on Epic Games Store or Steam will be pleased to know that Sackboy: A Big Adventure launched with both local and online co-op. However, getting local multiplayer working can get a bit confusing. To add more players on PC, the "=" button must be hit while in the game's hub world.

From here, press the "Select" or "Share" button on a controller to take control. This should allow the person holding the new controller to arrow over to an empty player slot and join the game as a new Sackboy.

As for the online, it works similarly to the PlayStation version in terms of what modes individuals can select. However, the biggest difference here is that the game will need to connect to both Epic Games online servers and Steam servers in case players are playing through different storefronts. As of now, there is no cross-play between PC and PlayStation.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
