With the multiverse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ripped wide open, the newest film Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness was rumored to be featuring many Marvel Comic characters, some of the characters being Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Tom Cruise's Iron Man, and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

With the cameos of Tobey Maguire and Tom Cruise seeming a little out there due to the actors working on other projects, the only one that seems like it could’ve happened is Ryan Reynolds's appearance, since it's already been confirmed his character is heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film's head writer Michael Waldron recently discussed some behind-the-scenes details that went into creating the film that managed to gross over 700 million dollars worldwide in its first two weekends in theaters alone. Waldron revealed that a Deadpool crossover almost became reality, but the executive decision to not include it in the film was made because "it didn’t feel right."

Fans began to initially speculate that the antihero would be making his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of the film's poster, which was released to the world alongside the film's official trailer during the Super Bowl, back in February. As fans zoomed in closer and began to dissect the poster many believed they could see Reynold’s Deadpool hidden in the art. Following this Reynold’s publicly denied his attachment to Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, but with many Marvel guest appearances being denied in the past by actors who happened to show up in the films, many just believed he was telling a white lie to not spoil the film.

However, as the film hit theaters on May 6th, Deadpool was nowhere to be found in the film and not even in a post-credits scene to the dismay of many fans of Reynold's quirky anti-hero. More information has since emerged, and according to The Direct, Reynolds was set to appear in the film's post-credits and the scene had even been filmed but was ultimately cut, as the film went under a lot of construction before its release date — even some reshoots were done.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed the role that Deadpool was set to play in the film after credits, The Direct believes there's a possibility that he could have aided in snapping Campbell out of the trance Strange placed him in early in the film. However, the film's last credit scene did include another MCU debut, the one of Charlize Theron’s Clea, as she approached Doctor Strange with his third eye open to help fix an incursion he caused during the time he spent battling Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch/ Wanda Maximoff in multiple universes.

Despite Reynolds' Deadpool not popping up in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, Deadpool 3 is on its way and the adventures of the fan-favorite Wade Wilson are set to continue, and hopefully, sooner than later he’ll entire the vast world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
