Ryan Reynolds reunites with director Shawn Levy (after the two worked together on last year's Free Guy) in Netflix's upcoming sci-fi adventure The Adam Project. While it isn't scheduled to release until next month, the film is already getting many positive reactions.

Netfix's The Adam Project stars Reynolds as Adam, a pilot who travels back in time to get help from his younger self in order to confront their late father. The film also stars big names such as Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Catherine Keener. The film is co-written by T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner, Pacific Rim: Uprising), duo Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett (Journey to the Center of the Earth), and Jonathan Tropper (This Is Where I Leave You, Kodachrome).

The official Adam Project trailer, which dropped today, isn't the only exciting news surrounding the film. Now, early reactions have been pouring in, with many comparing the sci-fi flick to classics such as Star Wars and Back to the Future and other films made by Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment back in the 1980s. Judging from the high praise, it appears Levy and Reynolds have another hit on their hands, as it seems much of their film has carried over the same science fiction elements and emotionally resonating themes that can be seen in Free Guy.

Originally attached to direct Uncharted film, which will star Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, Levy continues his success directing exciting and resonating blockbusters. For Reynolds, he continues his success with the streaming platform, as his last feature, Red Notice, has set numerous records and has become the most watched film on Netflix. His next feature, Spirited, will see the actor take on the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge in a modern re-imagining of the Christmas Carol for Apple TV Plus.

As for Netflix, it shows no signs of slowing down, as its recently released preview trailer highlights some big blockbusters like Rian Johnson's Knives Out 2 and The Russo Brothers' The Gray Man making their debut on the platform in 2022. With The Adam Project set to be a big hit, the sky's the limit in terms of what Netflix can achieve next.

The Adam Project will be available to stream on Netflix on March 11th, 2022.
