This is just a rumor, but word is Uncharted 3 will put out a video debut at the 2010 Spike TV Video Game Awards on December 11. This rumor makes sense, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves had itself a pretty memorable showing at the VGAs in 2008, so going back to the same event for an Uncharted 3 reveal seems logical. The VGAs have also made a name for itself by providing a good deal of exclusive first-looks at upcoming blockbuster games. Uncharted 3 would seem to fit this mold.
Sony has also sent out notices regarding an exclusive PlayStation 3 reveal occurring December 12, the day after the VGAs. The current rumor suggests this reveal will be a more in-depth look at Uncharted 3. Perhaps the video debut at the VGAs will be a sizzle trailer and the December 12 Sony event will showcase some changes to multiplayer? No one knows for sure, but the good news is that December 11 and 12 are not that far away, so gamers will not have to wait that long to see if this rumor pans out. U.S. gamers will also likely be distracted by the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and shopping banaza that is Black Friday, so waiting until December 11 for some possible Uncharted 3 news and videos should not be all that hard.
Of course, Sony could have something else entirely planned. They certainly have enough other big franchises that could make a good showing at the VGAs and again at their event on December 12. Resistance 3 news and in-game video could be sweet. Sly Cooper 4 had a little teaser in the Sly Collection, so maybe some more information or a hard and fast confirmation for Sly 4 is coming? God of War is always a show stopper too. Yes, God of War: Ghost of Sparta just recently hit on the PSP, but who wouldn't want more God of War? Those are just off the top of my head. There are plenty more known, or perhaps unknown, big games Sony could be ready to drop on the world.
I hope some Uncharted 3 news, videos, and some hands-on time is given though. Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are two of my all-time favorite games. While neither game had the longest single-player campaign, both serve as examples of games that I completed in one day. I just could not put the controller down.
