The fourth season of Fortnite has finally arrived and with it comes a massive Marvel crossover called Nexus War. With the cosmic threat Galactus approaching, Thor calls for aid from numerous comic book characters like Wolverine, Doctor Doom, and more. Large portions of the Battle Royale map have also been renamed and customized to have more of a marvel look and feel which has only further helped fans grow attached to this latest event. However, it seems as though Epic and Marvel are only just beginning with what is planned for this season.
Recently, a number of leaks and rumors have begun to surface, many of which originated from dataminers digging away at Fortnite's internal files. Already, fans have come across some interesting details such as even more Marvel themed locations being added to the game. One in particular that stood out referenced Black Panther, leading many fans to believe the Wakandan leader may be coming to the game at some point this season.
However, Fortnite dataminer HYPEX has unearthed a bit more details, discovering a Spider-Man logo in one of the Season 4 achievements. Naturally, speculation began running wild with fans assuming this means the incredibly popular character would be found in the game's item shop in the coming weeks to aid in the Nexus War battle. Some have also wondered how odd it would be to see Spider-Man holding a gun, though the same could be said for most of the Marvel heroes currently available in Fortnite.
More Spider-Man evidence was found by another notable Fortnite leaker, Shiina, surrounding the achievement information. In a new Tweet, Shiina mentioned that Spider-Man's longtime villain Carnage has also been referenced inside of the game's achievements. If Carnage is added, then that likely means Venom could be on the way as well, as the two symbiote based characters are typically shown at odds with one another.
New heroes this season shouldn't surprise players as other leakers and dataminers have already uncovered one upcoming addition. Silver Surfer, a one time Herald of Galactus who has since broken free of his control, is getting a new content bundle coming soon to the item store. The Silver Surfer pack was recently decrypted and not only shows the character as fans would expect him to look from the comics, but also including additional items such as a silver pickaxe, surf board, and more. Unfortunately, a release date is seemingly the only thing that has yet to be discovered for the new content.
