Ubisoft may be set to release a Game of the Year version of Far Cry 6 alongside a new expansion that will include the full package with the Ultimate Pack and Season Pass accompanied by the latest addition. The third DLC of the original Far Cry 6 Season Pass was released earlier this year, and it seems like Ubisoft has another expansion planned that will provide even more hours of content.Known Microsoft and Xbox leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia recently shared a tweet that strongly suggests that Far Cry 6 will be getting the aforementioned Game of the Year edition along with an expansion called Lost Between Worlds. Ubisoft hasn't confirmed the Lost Between Worlds expansion yet, but it's possible that it may make an appearance at the next Ubisoft Forward. A Ubisoft Forward came and went earlier this month without any Far Cry news, but if the rumors about an expansion to the last installment are true, Far Cry 6 fans may have even more areas to explore in the future.RELATED: Far Cry 6 Releases New Hotfix for Xbox VersionsAggiornamenti Lumia shared a screenshot on September 27 of a possible Far Cry 6 Game of the Year edition which may have been accidentally acquired through a post to the Xbox database. The Far Cry 6 logo is joined by a banner that calls the potential product a Game of the Year upgrade pass which bundles the unannounced expansion with the already released Season Pass and Ultimate Pack. Although Lumia has dubbed the upcoming Far Cry 6 expansion Lost Between Worlds, it's currently unclear if it exists or whether it will take place in Yara or an entirely new location.

The Far Cry 6 Ultimate Edition has been out since release, and it offers the base game with the Vice Pack, the Croc Hunter Pack, and the Jungle Expedition Pack as well as the Season Pass and Blood Dragon. The Season Pass featured DLC stories about past Far Cry villains Pagan Min, Vaas Montenegro, and Joseph Seed while the main game had its own iconic antagonist played by Giancarlo Esposito known as Anton Castillo. Unlike these villain-focused Far Cry 6 DLC, the upcoming expansion may have similarities to more iconic classic ones like Valley of the Yetis in Far Cry 4 or Lost on Mars in Far Cry 5.

Although Far Cry 6 may have been praised by a handful of players as 2021's Game of the Year, The Game Awards acknowledged It Takes Two as the pinnacle of that year, while other popular games in the same conversation included Metroid Dread and Resident Evil Village. Several Ubisoft critics have taken to the rumor of a Far Cry 6 Game of the Year edition to express their confusion with its name, and a few fans voiced contempt for the existing DLC ahead of another possible expansion announcement.

Far Cry 6 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
