RRR, India's biggest blockbuster in 2022, will return to movie theaters across the United States on March 3, and the new trailer meant to promote the film’s rerelease shows why it was one of the action movies to see last year.

While RRR has been available on Netflix with Hindi dubbing since May 2022, and the movie was released officially in late March, the new theatrical window looks to capitalize on the fantastic reputation it’s cultivated during awards season. RRR stars Indian actors N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan, icons in their native country, who will be back for a developing sequel following S.S. Rajamouli's fictionalized historical action film.

For its return to American theaters on March 3, the film’s promotion and distribution were handled by Variance Films. The trailer is also being shared on RRR's social media handles on Twitter. However, unlike the original trailer, this one is about action. On top of that, the film now has bragging rights, proclaiming to be an absolute masterpiece according to the likes of Steven Spielberg, Edgar Wright and RRR super fan James Cameron, with the entire trio praising Rajamouli's filmmaking skills during his awards tour in the United States.

As expected, the film's rerelease is focused on Bheem and Raju's incredibly over-the-top action exploits. This includes RRR's opening sequence, the former picking up a motorcycle like a baseball bat, dance sequences, and even the two fighting off a couple of CGI tigers. RRR will be shown in over 200 theaters nationwide, with a special massive screening in Los Angeles set to have Rajamouli, Charan and composer M. M. Keeravani as guests.

The one obstacle RRR will face next weekend as it looks to add onto its $160 million worldwide box office haul is that the rerelease will coincide with the premiere of Michael B. Jordan's Creed 3, though that will hardly discourage fans of this cult action gem. RRR missed out on a nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars and India's spot for Best International Film, but it did clinch a nod for Best Song thanks to “Naatu Naatu,” the catchy track heard in the trailer.

Not many films can quote Spielberg, Cameron and Wright's names next to words like “I couldn’t believe my eyes” in their marketing campaigns, so anyone who didn’t catch RRR with its original Telugu dialogue should not miss this opportunity.

RRR is available on Netflix and will return to theaters on March 3, 2022.
