Rogue Company just finished a blockbuster 2020 that saw 15 million players flock to the up-and-coming hero shooter, and developer Hi-Rez plans to release more content throughout 2020 to keep the momentum going. The first of 2021’s new content is included in Season 1, which will arrive in February and feature a new rogue, map, battle pass, and more.

Hi-Rez has steadily added more content to Rogue Company since its open beta launched in October 2020. The content has come in the form of new playable rogues, maps, and cosmetics, including a Dr. Disrespect crossover that featured a map designed by the popular streamer. Hi-Rez recently announced that it will to keep the content coming in 2021, with four seasons planned to release throughout the year.

The first will arrive next month and will feature a new rogue named Kestrel, a map called The Hollows, and a battle pass that will include emotes and cosmetics for Rogue Company's roster. Similar to other competitive multiplayer titles, Rogue Company’s battle pass will allow players to unlock some rewards for free, while keeping other cosmetics behind a pay wall. There will also be a new 2v2 wingman game mode that will feature small, yet-to-be announced maps.

Details on Kestrel are scarce for now, though Hi-Rex has given fans an overview of her back story. The new rogue is an influential fashion icon from India, and it is confirmed that she wields an assault rifle as her primary weapon, a pistol, and throwing axes. Hi-Rez will likely release more detailed information on the new character in the coming weeks. Kestrel is the latest rogue to join the Rogue Company roster, as Sigrid joined the game just a few weeks ago on December 16.

The new map, The Hollows, is the “first of many maps” that Hi-Rez plans to release this year. The map will be playable with the standard game modes, as well as with a yet-to-be announced exclusive LTM. Similar to Kestrel, Hi-Rez will likely release new information on the new map as Rogue Company's Season 1 approaches.

Rogue Company seems to have the potential to become one of the premier hero-shooter games of this year, as long as fans are engaged with Hi-Rez’s new content. They likely will be, as players have praised the game for its tactical shooter mechanics and steady stream of new content. Rogue Company is also expanding to new platforms, as it arrived on Xbox Series X with next-gen enhancements in November and is expected to come to PS5 later this year.

Rogue Company is out now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
