Best-known for creating the Batman: Arkham series of games, Rocksteady Studios has many fans who are eager to see what the developer will do next. The studio's last project was Batman: Arkham VR (released in June 2016) and fans say that it's about time that it announced something new.

Lucky for those fans that a major announcement could be right around the corner. In a post on 4Chan, a user claims to have inside information as their girlfriend works at Rocksteady Studios.

They say that Rocksteady is working on a Superman game, that the "scale and the ambition of the game are massive" and that fans of the studio will be "blown away by the details." Details posted on 4Chan last week also suggested that the Superman game will actually be set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham franchise.

The poster also claims that the game will be officially revealed next week as a Game Informer cover story. The publication is reportedly set to unveil its next issue on November 6, and the Man of Steel himself will be the cover star, officially lifting the lid on Rocksteady's next project.

Superman

All rumors should be taken with a grain of salt. Although correct rumors and speculation have been published on 4Chan in the past, including Nintendo Switch exclusive games, the original poster is anonymous. Therefore it's difficult to verify the information and whether their girlfriend has really given them the heads up on the Superman game reveal.

However, this isn't the first time that rumors of a Rocksteady Superman game have circulated. In 2015 the LinkedIn page (professional career listing) of a freelance animator named Kieran Turan said that Turan had been involved in "troubleshooting and repair of the 3D facial rig for the upcoming "Superman" videogame title for GameOn Audio."

Game On is a Montreal based audio and game development studio that provided outsourced support for Batman: Arkham Origins. Turan has also worked with DC Media Networks.

Moreover, Rocksteady itself said that its next game will make fans "lose their minds." While most fans would be expecting a brand new Batman: Arkham title of some sort, many would also lose their minds at a Superman video game too.

The Game Informer reveal would also arrive just ahead of the Justice League movie which releases this month and stars Superman. The timing would be perfect and fans would certainly be excited about the announcement. Only a few days now until the rumor will be tested.
