With the news that E3 is the latest event to be canceled due to concerns surrounding the spread of the Coronavirus, it appears a number of the event's most notable attendees will be forced to find a new avenue to talk about their newest releases. The likes of Microsoft and Bethesda, for example, were set to give big showcases detailing their newest games going forward into the next console generation, with these notable press conferences now appearing to be canceled. It turns out one notable name was even set to show off its long-awaited new title at the event, with Warner Brothers supposedly set to have its first-ever showcase where it would announce the studio's long-awaited next game.

This studio is none other than Rocksteady, the iconic developer behind the Batman Arkham trilogy, who has been working on a mysterious new project for a number of years now. While fans have spent all of the mysterious title's arduous development time trying to guess what it could possibly be, it appears fans were merely a few months away from finding out what Rocksteady was actually working on, however, that no longer appears to be the case.

Reported through a tweet by Kotaku's Jason Schreier, the reputable journalist claims that "Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady's game among others." He goes on to admit that it "remains to be seen what they'll do now." While, of course, the other two games Schreier mentions are also highly-anticipated, it's sad that fans will potentially have to wait longer to find out exactly what Rocksteady's newest game will actually turn out to be.

Naturally, it seems likely that Warner Bros will find another event to debut its exciting new conference at or perhaps follow in the footsteps of Nintendo and PlayStation by debuting a short live stream showing off its multitude of new titles. No doubt there would be a massive audience for a digital showcase from the publisher, especially as all three of the games listed by Schreier are highly-anticipated by their respective communities.

The newest Arkham game has been teased for a number of months now, with fans of the popular superhero franchise clamoring to see what WB's newest take on the license will look like, while the Harry Potter RPG has been a monumental talking point ever since footage from the game leaked online. Hopefully, E3's cancellation won't further elongate how long fans have to wait to see what Warner Brothers have in the pipeline.

An untitled Rocksteady game is currently in development.
