Properly revealed during the EA Play last month, Rocket Arena looks to be the next huge competitive phenomenon, with the title combining the frantic fun of a 3 v 3 hero shooter with the explosive power of rocket launchers. Its announcement last month already seemed to show a good chunk of what made the new multiplayer title tick, however, some new slices of gameplay in the lead up to the game's release have better detailed why fans should keep their eyes locked on Rocket Arena in the next few days.

The most recent of these gameplay reveals arrived two days ago, with Rocket Arena's YouTube channel unveiling a comprehensive breakdown of every hero available in the game. This 3-minute long deep dive shows a little more of each fighter's overall aesthetic, how they traverse the environment, and - most importantly - the arsenal of skills they can employ on the battlefield.

The first character highlighted by the Heroes of Crater trailer is Jayto, a plucky jetpack toting hero who seems like a fairly balanced character skill-wise. He can utilize fast and accurate single fire and cluster rockets. Next is Topnotch, an elderly combatant who also sports a jetpack. He can call in giant rocket strikes on foes and carries manually detonated missiles. Izell follows the pair up, with the female fighter sporting jungle powers. She can execute powerful lunges at foes, has spear rockets, and can utilize bolas. Rev, a cocky combatant riding on a high-speed hoverboard, is next. Her gun fires rapid-fire rockets from dual barrels and she can employ mines to dismantle her opponents.

The next hero is Boone, a hunter with a colourful dragon watching his back. His mythical sidekick can help him fly around the map, while his weapon can switch between a powerful shotgun and precise sniper on a whim. Plink then takes centre stage, with the child engineer brandishing boomerang rockets and a teleporter orb that can damage enemies. Kayi follows up the pair, showing off her icy personality and abilities. She sports a grappling hook, charged crossbow bolts, and a snow globe attack that slows down other players.

The magical Mysteen is highlighted next, with the mystical character able to spawn doppelgangers of herself and conjure a protective shield. Amphora follows suit, showing off her aquatic abilities as she throws bouncing mines, fires torpedos, and jets around the battlefield in her "hydro form." Blastbeard rounds out the pack and, if the name didn't give it away, he seems very dedicated to the pirate lifestyle. He sports a powerful canon, can fire explosive anchors, and has the ability to employ a devastating shockwave attack.

Rocket Arena will be available July 14 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
