Roblox has become incredibly popular over the years, and it has continued to grow and sustain its impressive player numbers over recent months. Now, Roblox has reached a new all-time player count for last month that is staggeringly high.

Roblox is a sandbox game development platform that allows players to make a wide variety of different game modes and servers that can then be opened up to the game's massive player base for them to play. Roblox boasts a wide variety of servers, from the animal-raising Adopt Me! to Grand Theft Auto style open-worlds and even a Roblox tie-in for the novel Ready Player Two.

Roblox metric blog RTrack has now reported that the game reached a new record of 202 million estimated users across the month of April. The impressive stat indicates that the game grew by 10 million users just since the previous month, and places Roblox comfortably towards the top of the most played games list. For comparison, Call of Duty set a new peak last year when it crossed 100 million monthly users while Minecraft was recently just approaching 140 million monthly users. Obviously, Roblox passed those a long time ago, and they are two of the most popular series in the games industry.

While the numbers are estimated and not an official announcement, the increase does come despite developer Roblox Corporation's statement last year that they expected the player count to dip slightly in early 2021 as the global lockdowns from the pandemic began to ease. The player count is extremely impressive and has seen some games on Roblox reaching some incredible numbers themselves. Of course, Roblox is undoubtedly helped by the simple fact that the game is free-to-play and is only monetized through optional in-game purchases, but that does not make its new player count any less impressive.

The Roblox Corporation just went public last March and the Roblox stock saw a huge surge in its first day on the exchange, but the company's CEO recently said that the game has yet to turn a profit. Although, the game's profit numbers have steadily been on the rise, so with the growth in player count it will likely start generating a large profit sooner rather than later. With the new numbers, it will be interesting to see what else is in Roblox's future, or whether or not the continuing release of the lockdowns will eventually have their expected effect on the massive title.

Roblox is available now on Mobile, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
