A strange aspect of the Indie space is that a lack of corporate oversite often gives both developers and players huge amounts of freedoms for what can be created within highly customizable games. In the case of Roblox, this sometimes means that the developer is able to hide creepy imagery in the game that can be accessed in default servers as well as some player-built areas, like the Ready Player Two hub.

One of these odd Easter Eggs has recently started to spread online as more people outside of the larger Roblox player base are now becoming aware of a specific command that can be used to play a video hidden in the game's files. The result is a strange video of a clown that has become something of a legend among players in the years since it was first discovered.

In order to see this creepy clown video, players only need to enter the command "?iloveyou" with the correct settings on and when in one of Roblox's servers that supports the Easter Egg. Any player who is able to get the command to work will then be greeted with a short video of someone wearing a clown mask and seemingly styling their hair. To add to the creep factor, the video itself appears to have been filmed in a dark room and has a grainy look to it to give the whole thing an unsettling feeling.

While many outside of the Roblox player base are only now learning about this creepy video, it has previously been found by other players who have known about it for some time. The video itself has become one part urban legend and one part right of passage on the game's message boards and forums, as the specific settings required to view have made it difficult to find for some. For new players, however, it's one of the stranger corners of the game that simply couldn't exist in many other titles for anyone to randomly come across.

Considering the way that Roblox is always introducing new games and offering new experiences for players to engage with, the uniquely customizable title is always bringing in more people to see what the game has to offer. So, signing into what appears on the surface to be a pleasant and child friendly game and seeing this creepy clown video can be somewhat jarring for players not expecting it. However, with how difficult it can be to actually find the Easter Egg, it's more of something for fans to pass around online instead of randomly appearing in-game.

Roblox is available now Mobile, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
