Robert Pattison's The Batman is currently riding the promotional wave, with the studio revealing new images and footage every so often. But, what’s caught the attention of fans recently is the fact that the character now has its own unique Oreo cookie. When the movie premieres in March, fans will be able to get their hands on these special cookies as well.

Nabisco, the American manufacturer that produces Oreo, announced the special cookie that will celebrate the return of The Batman on the big screen. The 37-second teaser video, shared by Saatchi & Saatchi Germany on YouTube, introduces the new limited-edition cookie in the form of a riddle, playing on The Riddler's format of constantly provoking the Dark Knight.

The Oreo teaser that introduces The Batman cookie begins with a close-up shot of the biscuit, with the voiceover informing viewers of how “two icons unite.” It is followed by some fantastic animated shots of Pattinson's Batman, his iconic insignia, the bat signal, Gotham City, and even the Batmobile, all made from several cookies put together. “Oreo meets The Batman,” the teaser announces as the limited-edition cookie, with an image of Batman carved into the biscuit, appears on the screen.

This isn’t the first time that a special Oreo cookie has been released to promote a film. Previously, other projects have also been promoted similarly, including a line of Pokémon cookies released in 2021. The special cookies carried images of 16 of the most popular Pokémon, including Pikachu and Charmander. The challenge for fans was to find all the 16 characters, as each tray of Pokémon × Oreo didn’t carry all of them.

Having been introduced over a century ago, Oreo is today considered as one of the world’s most popular cookies. Such is the popularity that March 6 is marked as National Oreo Day in the US every year. In 2004, the parent company came up with the slogan “Milk's Favorite Cookie,” which implied it was the only option for people to pick up with a glass of milk.

The cookies are sold in at least 100 countries around the world, and the company is known to sell around $2.5 billion worth of biscuits annually. Collaborating with The Batman will not only promote the upcoming film, but also contribute towards increased sales for the biscuit itself.

The Batman is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 4, 2022.
