Riverdale, by most accounts, is one of the strangest shows of the modern era. It began as a series on The CW adapting the characters from Archie Comics grappling with a town mystery. As the seasons have gone on, however, the show has gotten more out-of-the-box and wacky, simultaneously becoming one of the biggest shows streaming on Netflix.

Despite the weirdness of Riverdale, the show is grounded by the performances of its stellar cast. This cast includes Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, whose desire for investigation conflicts with her romantic flings with both Jughead and Archie. Though she has too many great moments to count, some of Betty's best quotes in Riverdale stand out.

1 Justice For Jason Blossom

Betty in the finale of Riverdale season 1

The finale of Riverdale's first season deals with the aftermath of the town learning the truth about Jason Blossom's murder. This comes following the suicide of his father, who is revealed to be the killer, despite FP Jones already being imprisoned for the crime. After all the dust has settled, the mayor holds a jubilee to celebrate the town's 75 years of existence.

It's at that jubilee that Betty does what she does best: give an impassioned, brutally honest speech. She says to the attendees regarding the death of the Blossoms and Jones' incarceration:

Riverdale must do better. We must do better.

2 Betty Confronts Her Father

Betty in Riverdale season 2

One of the biggest twists in season 2 of Riverdale reveals that Betty's father, Hal, is the Black Hood who killed Archie's dad at the end of season 1. This leads to some serious confrontation between him and Betty, particularly when Betty is called to her house by Chic, who faces verbal abuse from Hal.

In a very Betty-esque moment, Hal's daughter lashes out at him, exclaiming:

Maybe the reason you feel like we’re hiding things and keeping secrets is because you are.

It's enough of a call-out to make Hal leave entirely, proving once again that even in the face of a murderer, Betty is one of the bravest characters in Riverdale.

3 Betty Grows Suspicious Of Chic

Despite defending him only a few episodes prior, Betty becomes suspicious of Chic's identity when he refuses to get a blood test to confirm his relation to the Blossoms, which forces Betty to investigate. Recruiting Kevin, Betty comes up with an idea to lure the truth out of Chic, humorously quipping:

I have a plan. It's slightly insane.

She's right; that plan does turn out to be slightly insane. She tries to get Kevin to discuss getting a DNA test with Chic over a video call, Unfortunately, however, Chic smells that something's up and hangs up. Although Betty's plan almost worked, it wasn't good enough to sniff out the truth about Chic.

4 Betty Tries To Help Her Mother Remember

Betty in season 3 of Riverdale

In season 3, episode 18, Betty is dealing with her mother Alice's sudden loss of reality, which causes her to retread much of her past. Alice is clearly dealing with some sort of post-traumatic stress that is causing her to refuse to believe what has happened to her. However, as Betty stresses to her mother during a confrontation:

Bad things happen, but you can’t get rid of your past because then you’d lose the good parts, too.

Unfortunately, this pleading doesn't work, resulting in Betty leaving Alice with several yearbooks to ponder through. Though she remains determined to fix her mom's condition, it results in a divide between mother and daughter that's truly heartbreaking, leading to some of Reinhart's best acting on the show.

5 A Graduation Speech For The Ages

Betty making her valedictorian speech in season 5

Episode 3 of season 5 of Riverdale finds the central cast of characters finally graduating from Riverdale High. As usual, this gives Betty, her class' valedictorian, an opportunity to give a speech in front of the student body. Like many of Betty's speeches throughout Riverdale, this impassioned plea to the town reminds them of what they've been through.

Betty particularly stresses how much the town has changed during their high school years, stating:

Those younger than us have known no Riverdale other than the one steeped in violence.

However, the point of Betty's speech is much more hopeful than this, claiming it's up to them to make sure that Riverdale is remembered as the town they once knew.

6 Archie's Failed Proposal To Betty

Betty talking to Archie in the season 6 finale

In the finale of season 6, Archie unexpectedly proposes to Betty as a comet threatens to destroy the town of Riverdale. To his surprise, Betty turns him down, claiming that while she does love Archie, she knows that this proposal is simply a response to the cataclysmic event on their doorstep. As she tells Archie:

You put so much pressure on yourself to be a hero, but you already are one.

Betty reminds Archie of the promise they made when Archie proposed to her as a kid and asks him to extend it until after Cheryl destroys the comet. This is enough of a great moment to give Archie the confidence he needs to help melt the comet and save the town.
