One of Steam's best-kept roguelite secrets is ready to be showcased to the world. Rising Hell originally launched in Early Access on Steam in October 2019, and it's taken the year and a half since then for developer Tahoe Games to put the finishing touches on Rising Hell. Now, it's near-finished and ready to launch not just on Steam but on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, too. Rising Hell will be leaving Early Access and fully launching on May 19.

In Rising Hell, as the name implies, players climb through increasingly challenging floors of a tower filled with nightmares. Inspired by heavy metal, Tahoe Games has filled Rising Hell with demons and torture devices for players to overcome. They'll be well-equipped to do so, however, as players will be able to leap, attack, and progress their characters in meaningful ways as they progress to new heights. Whether escape from hell is possible or just another layer of lies is up to players to discover.

The leap from Early Access to Rising Hell's 1.0 launch comes with a variety of new content. The biggest addition is, of course, a final boss and the game's multiple endings. Alongside the new content, a huge balance sweep of the game's warriors, talents, and relics will be made. There will also be overall polish changes, as well as support for new languages like simplified Chinese.

Tahoe Games has been silent for some time as it wrapped up the finishing touches on Rising Hell. But now everything's coming to a conclusion. The final version of Rising Hell will be available on May 19. And for those who'd like to try Rising Hell before they buy, the game's prologue is free to download and play on Steam right now.

Rising Hell releases May 19 on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
