Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix officially release the launch trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration for the PlayStation 4 console.

With the release date for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration being just around the corner, it's safe to say that a lot of PlayStation 4 fans are eagerly anticipating its availability, especially after having to wait nearly a year after the game's initial launch in 2015 as an Xbox One timed-exclusive. So, in order to further whet PS4 players appetites, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix have now published the official launch trailer for the definitive version of the multiple award-winning action-adventure title.

As seen in the trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration below, PlayStation 4 fans can look forward to all of the base game content that made it great on PC and Xbox One, as well as the inclusion of a single-player story chapter known as Blood Ties, zombie combat found within Lara’s Nightmare, and a fresh co-op Endurance gameplay experience. Not to mention, the 20 Year Celebration will have PlayStation VR support, and is set to contain every piece of previously released DLC.

Furthermore, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration's main campaign will have an Extreme Survivor difficulty setting for those who want an incredibly tough challenge. Plus, this fully loaded edition of the game is going to have a brand new 20 Year Celebration outfit and gun, on top of five individual skins for Lara.

Fans on PC and Xbox One won't be left out when it comes to receiving all of the aforementioned extra goodies, for aside from virtual reality support, every bit of DLC in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration will be made available on the platforms beyond PS4. As a matter of fact, current Season Pass owners on PC and Xbox One will automatically get all of the add-ons at no additional cost once the game launches.

Should all of the contents detailed thus far for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration sound enticing, fans can get even more bang for their buck, as they can pre-order the title to get a free copy of the 2013's game from the series. Plus, developers have included an even bigger incentive to purchase the 20 Year Celebration in the way of giving fans who take the time to log in during launch week a 100,000 in-game credit bonus.

Taking all of this into consideration, it seems as if Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix are attempting to make up the lost time to PlayStation 4 fans by giving them the ultimate edition of Lara Croft's latest adventure in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration. As far as the developers are concerned, there will hopefully be a large enough pool of PS4 fans on-hand who have managed to retain a hearty interest in the title. It will be their purchasing power that determines whether or not the long wait for the release is justified.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is set to release on October 11, 2016 for PlayStation 4.
