Xbox Game Pass receives new games and partnerships on a monthly basis, providing new and old experiences alike to subscribers. One partnership with Xbox Game Pass brings free content from some of the most popular games on PC.

Xbox Game Pass is home to a vast library of games ranging from the original Xbox console to the latest games for Xbox Series X|S. From Forza Horizon 5 to Halo Infinite, gamers can expect every new Xbox Game Studios game to land on Xbox Game Pass at launch. These new games include Forza Motorsport from Turn 10 Studios and the highly anticipated Starfield from Bethesda Softworks.

During the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Riot Games took the stage as a new partner with Xbox Game Pass for PC and mobile. Riot Games revealed tons of free content for Xbox Game Pass subscribers in League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Team Fight Tactics, and Valorant. This free content includes character unlocks across all the games and Xbox Game Pass subscribers may take advantage of it starting this winter.

Riot Games teased more free content alongside the character unlocks for Xbox Game Pass. It's likely Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive cosmetics and other digital goods to enhance their Riot Games experience on PC and mobile. Unfortunately, the announcement by Riot Games does not confirm native Xbox console versions of games such as League of Legends and Valorant. In the coming months, Xbox will share more information about how gamers can access this free content through Xbox Game Pass.

The announcement brings more value to Xbox Game Pass as the subscription service gains another partner in Riot Games. Specifically, PC Game Pass subscribers and mobile gamers have been clamoring for more games and support for the respective platforms. The Riot Games partnership is a major step in the right direction while introducing Xbox Game Pass gamers to the Riot Games ecosystem.

However, Xbox Series X|S players will not be able to take advantage of the free content since the Riot Games titles are available on PC and mobile only. Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC and mobile will get a major head start in Valorant and League of Legends at the very least. Xbox should continue pursuing partnerships to bolster the Xbox Game Pass lineup of content even further.

The free content from Riot Games arrives this winter for Xbox Game Pass on PC and mobile.
