Riot Games is primarily known as the team behind League of Legends, a platform it has used to catapult itself into fame, fortune, and new products. These days, League is still Riot's most famous title, with a mockumentary series centering on a fictional League of Legends team currently in the works.

That said, Riot Games' growth coupled with a diaspora of players from League of Legends prompted, and continues to prompt, the company to expand into other titles, putting an end to the long running joke of the "Games" part of the company's name being redundant. From this have come titles like Valorant and Legends of Runeterra and, possibly, something else currently unknown.

A new job posting from Riot calls for a game designer to work on an "Unpublished R&D Product." This is an incredibly vague thing to be called to work on, since a product could be just about anything and R&D suggests something still in the very early planning stages. On its own, this might suggest a new title, and since it's not named it may well be one not yet revealed to the public. Even as Valorant moves to mobile, it's clear Riot is not slowing down when it comes to new stuff.

The phrasing is certainly bizarre, since a new product from Riot Games implies something game-related by default. Granted, that's not all Riot has released, as it did publish a royalty-free album for streamers not long ago. Still, the amount of projects being worked on at Riot right now is already huge, so another completely new, independent game almost seems like a stretch. This may mean that the "product" is simply something else that a player can purchase in one of Riot's existing titles.

The posting calls for experience in a live service title, which covers most of Riot's titles at the moment, reinforcing the possibility that the product may be landing in an existing game. This would certainly be a shame, as players are looking forward to new titles from Riot, including the upcoming fighting game set in League of Legends' universe.

Still, more of Riot's current titles is by no means a bad thing, especially with some of them like Legends of Runeterra going stronger than ever with the release of its latest card set. And all of the profit from these live titles is still, hopefully, going towards making things like the upcoming Netflix series Arcane a reality.
