Owlchemy Labs, best known as the creators of Job Simulator, will soon be releasing a Rick and Morty virtual reality game in collaboration with Adult Swim. Entitled Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, the game will fittingly be available on April 20th, aka 4/20, for a budget price of $29.99 on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality will retain the bizarre sense of humor of the show, while blending its art style with a Job Simulator aesthetic. In the game, players will visit familiar locations from the TV show as one of Rick Sanchez's clones, interacting with objects in the environment and solving puzzles.

Justin Roiland, the co-creator of Rick and Morty and the voice actor for both title characters, will be lending his voice acting talents to the game. Despite his involvement with Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, however, it doesn't appear as though Roiland had any hand in the game's actual development besides providing voice work. This is a little odd since Roiland has his own game studio dedicated to creating virtual reality experiences, Squanchtendo, but perhaps his team is too busy with other projects.

Rick and Morty VR Game Releases On... 4/20 - Rick Sanchez

Some may find it worrisome that Roiland isn't developing the Rick and Morty VR game with his VR game studio, but the title should be in good hands. Owlchemy Labs has emerged as one of the premiere developers of virtual reality games, with Job Simulator standing as one of the best VR games of 2016.

Owlchemy Labs has also proven that it has the sense of humor necessary to do a Rick and Morty game justice. Furthermore, Job Simulator is a science-fiction game about robots trying (and failing) to simulate how humans lived in the past, which is a plot line that could have been ripped straight from an episode of the Rick and Morty TV show.

With experience in creating humorous sci-fi stories and celebrated VR work under its belt, Owlchemy Labs should be able to deliver a quality game when it comes to Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. Fans of the franchise won't have to wait long to find out, as the game is releasing later this month...on 4/20.
